> ℹ️ **Bidirectional charging is only available for electric vehicles based on the MEB platform with **

> ℹ️ - **a battery capacity of at least 77 kWh and **
> ℹ️ - **software V3.5 or higher, recommended 5.6 or higher**

> ℹ️ **or  EVs with software version 6.x**


To use the bidirectional charging functionality for your car, the function **bidirectional charging** has to be enabled in the **charging** **settings **of your vehicle’s infotainment system (touchscreen).


> ℹ️ **Note: Buttons for Charging Settings not visible**
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ The **charging settings / charging screen** provides 4 menu options: **Charging**, **Optimise**, **Locations** and **Settings**.
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ Each of these buttons is used to display different settings on screen.
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ If the buttons are not visible, you can display them manually:
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ - Hit the symbol for the app menu     in the upper left corner.  
> ℹ️ All available apps are shown.
> ℹ️ - Hit **charging**.  
> ℹ️ The charging screen is opened and the 4 menu items are displayed on the left side.


**Proceed as follows:**

1. <u>**Define a charging location:**</u>

- Hit the **Locations** button.
- Hit **Add current position as charging location**.
- Enter a name for the charging location and press **OK**.
- Further settings not needed, they are optional.


2. <u>**Start charging:**</u>

- Connect the charging cable to the charging port of the vehicle.
- In the infotainment system, the **charging** screen is shown.
- After a few seconds, charging starts.


4. <u>**Enable bidirectional charging:**</u>

- A dropdown list with the available charging modes is displayed.
- In the dropdown list, select <u>*Bidirectional charging*</u>.

 

The vehicle is now ready to be charged bidirectionally.
